Summary

Soon to be a major motion picture sequel to  Murder on the Orient Express  with a screenplay by Michael Green, directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh alongside Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer—coming September 17, 2021!

Beloved detective Hercule Poirot embarks on a journey to Egypt in one of Agatha Christie’s most famous mysteries。

The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head。 She was young, stylish, and beautiful。 A girl who had everything 。 。 。 until she lost her life。

Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger。” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems。

A sweeping mystery of love, jealousy, and betrayal, Death on the Nile is one of Christie’s most legendary and timeless works。

Death on the Nile is perfect。” —The Guardian

“One of her best。 。 。 。 First rate entertainment。” —Kirkus Reviews

Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐SUMMARY: Hercule Poirot is at it again (murder seems to follow this poor chap wherever he goes。) This time, while on a much needed vacation to Egypt, he encounters newlyweds Linette and Simon Doyle。 Rich and beautiful, their honeymoon is doomed for disaster when a series of unexpected events seek to ruin their happiness。 And when Linette is murdered, Poirot steps up to investigate; it’s only a matter of time before he solves this confusing case。PROS and CONS:Reading a book written by Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐SUMMARY: Hercule Poirot is at it again (murder seems to follow this poor chap wherever he goes。) This time, while on a much needed vacation to Egypt, he encounters newlyweds Linette and Simon Doyle。 Rich and beautiful, their honeymoon is doomed for disaster when a series of unexpected events seek to ruin their happiness。 And when Linette is murdered, Poirot steps up to investigate; it’s only a matter of time before he solves this confusing case。PROS and CONS:Reading a book written by Agatha Christie is like putting on a comfy cardigan, or relaxing on an old familiar couch。 There are no tricks, no unnecessary gore, no psychological elements - just pure mystery。 Anyone can solve it if they look carefully enough at the clues, but part of the fun is just meeting her interesting cast of characters, and getting swept up in the events that occur。 She’s perhaps the most consistent author who has ever been published。。。I simply adore getting lost in the worlds she creates。READ IT?Yes, when you are in the mood for a visit from an old (not terribly exciting, yet imminently comforting) friend。。。be sure to turn to Agatha Christie!5 Stars 。。。more

Astonishing!!!!Masterpiece!!!I loved this one。 Christie manages to interweave revenge and love into the crime scene and she shows us that mad love can be destructive and blinding。

Super page-turning, I read it in less than 24 hours! It takes a while for the actual murder to take place which I normal don't like but I didn't mind it here because the book gives lots of potential motives for murder, so you are still able to make guesses。 Once the murder did happen, I wasn't able to work out who the murderer was until right as Poirot began explaining it at the very end, which I think is perfect。 The book is so cleverly plotted, I would love to read it again and pick up on ever Super page-turning, I read it in less than 24 hours! Really 3。5 stars。 It was good。 Had a great twist and conclusion, but I just didn’t enjoy it as much as And Then There Were None。

Loved loved loved this book。 Agatha Christie does it again - lots of red herrings that keep you guessing until the end。

。。。more

Poirot is certainly distinct from Holmes in his fallability, relatability, and humanity。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Could kinda guess who was MOST likely to commit the murder but had NO idea how!Agatha Christie never fails- she writes people as if she knew every character, Poirot is as mysterious and as wise as ever, and the plot of the murder was insanely clever and very satisfying。There was much foreshadowing to who did it however, which for me made the murderers more predictable but was still satisfying to realise the significance nonetheless。 All in all, a highly enjoyable read with an endlessly gripping Could kinda guess who was MOST likely to commit the murder but had NO idea how!Agatha Christie never fails- she writes people as if she knew every character, Poirot is as mysterious and as wise as ever, and the plot of the murder was insanely clever and very satisfying。There was much foreshadowing to who did it however, which for me made the murderers more predictable but was still satisfying to realise the significance nonetheless。 All in all, a highly enjoyable read with an endlessly gripping plot。 。。。more

Mrs。 Allerton shivered。 “Love can be a very frightening thing。” “That is why most great love stories are tragedies。”I did not see this one coming, is was so simple but so complicated at the same time that it surprised me when the killer was revealed *sigh*, so happy that I got to read this book

I read every Agatha Christie book I could find as a teenager, and I loved this one just as much now。 It stands the test of time, and is even more charming for its age。 Now I want more! “So it was she who told you。”Poirot said gently, “Excuse me; she did not tell me。”“But then, how to you know?”“Because I am Hercule Poirot I do not need to be told。”
